Ritual Finesse 75 Hockey Stick Review: A Touch of Finesse at the Right Price

I’ve been using the Ritual Finesse 75 for a few months now, and it’s become my go-to stick for both training and matches. Here’s my breakdown of its strengths and weaknesses.

I’m the type of player who craves the ability to play with one of these really low-bow hockey sticks, but lacks the skill to adjust my passing to their lay-up. My punch and hits just jump off of the floor and my teammates roll their eyes each time they try to trap the bouncing ball I send them.

However, when starting to Review the Ritual Finesse hockey stick, the layup and comments of others made me think its worth a shot. The biggest benefit to me is the slightly higher bow postion at 260mm up from the head. While only 10-40mm higher than the really low bows, it seems to offer that great balance of being low enough for skills and straight enough for me to keep the ball on the Astro.

Additionally to the bow position, this Ritual Finesse hockey stick review highlights some of the other great benefits of the weapon:

Strengths:

  • Lightweight and nimble: This stick is noticeably lighter than most I’ve used, especially with the 29mm handle. It makes stickhandling and passing a breeze, allowing for quicker reactions and smoother transitions.
  • Precise touch: The Finesse 75 lives up to its name. The combination of the thin handle and balanced blade gives you incredible control over the ball. Flicks, drags, and deflections feel effortless and accurate.
  • Good pop for its weight: Despite being lightweight, this stick packs a surprisingly good punch. The high carbon content (75%) and Kevlar reinforcement translate to powerful shots and crisp passes.
  • Super soft grip: The factory-fitted grip is one of the best I’ve encountered. It feels incredibly comfortable, providing excellent tactile feedback and reducing hand fatigue.
  • Durable construction: While still early days, the stick has held up well to the rigors of practice and games. The composite materials seem robust and haven’t shown any signs of wear and tear.

Weaknesses:

  • Not for brute force: This stick shines in its agility and finesse, but it wouldn’t be my first choice for players who rely heavily on sheer power. You might find the lighter shaft lacking some stiffness for booming slap shots.
  • Pricey for amateurs: Compared to mid-range sticks, the Finesse 75 definitely falls on the premium side. While worth it for serious players, casual enthusiasts might find it a bit of an investment.

Overall:

The Ritual Finesse 75 is a top-quality stick for players who value speed, precision, and control. It’s perfectly suited for those who rely on finesse and quick passing play. If you’re a striker or midfielder looking for an upgrade, this stick is worth considering. However, if you prioritise raw power or are on a tight budget, there might be better options out there.

I’d give the Ritual Finesse 75 a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Bonus points: The stick looks fantastic! The clean design with subtle branding is a breath of fresh air in a market saturated with loud graphics.

I hope this review helps you decide if the Ritual Finesse 75 is the right stick for you!
