Whats the . point?
Unlike most hockey brands, adidas don’t like to give away the material composition of their hockey sticks, but to differentiate the whole range from 2022 onward they use a “.” (point) and then numbers 1 to 8, which gives an idea of how much carbon (and therefore how stiff) is in the stick.
Importantly though in the adidas hockey stick range reviews for these models, the importance of the “Kromaskin” wrap is also differentiated by the .
The Kromaskin technology is an extra layer of ultra-thin carbon wrapped around the stick, making it stronger but also harder to control the ball.
Adidas hockey sticks with . 1-2 after their name have this Kromaskin wrap across the whole shaft, making them the toughest sticks available in the range.
Adidas hockey sticks with .3 have the wrap around the head (or hook) of the stick and any higher than a 3 don’t have the wrap at all.
